Beach Cemetery is located on virgin prairie land, about 1-3/4 miles west of Big Mound Cemetery, on the north side of Big Mound Road. The first burials were in the 1830's. Several early travelers who where stricken in an epidemic are buried here in a common grave. The cemetery was abandoned prior to 1880.
