Forreston Herald, May 16, 1885:

DIED: Jacobs – Elizabeth Coffman, wife of Dr. Samuel L. Jacobs, of Adeline, and mother of our fellow townsman, Henry C. Jacobs. The deceased came to this county with her husband from the state of Maryland in 1841. She was in her seventy-sixth year, and up to the day of her death, seemed to enjoy as good health as people of her age can reasonably expect. She died on the morning of May 8th 1885, at her home in Adeline of heart disease without a struggle or the least manifestation of pain and now sleeps in “the home of the waiting.” (Job xvii, 13), until her Redeemer shall stand on the earth, and call forth the dead to receive rewards according to their works. The funeral discourse was preached in the Lutheran church by Mr. G.M. Myers, of Lanark, Ill, on Monday, the 11th, after which the burial took place in the Christadelphian cemetery on the farm of S.W. Coffman, brother of the diseased.
