MRS. WM. H. LEARY
Mrs. W. H. Leary, Sr., who had been in failing health for several years, passed away at her home in Byron Thursday morning, March 20, 1924.

Elizabeth Ryan, daughter of Thos. And Mary Ryan, was born in Byron township, January 2, 1859. Her parents came from Ireland and settled in Byron township, later moving to Seward, where she lived until her marriage.

On August 23, 1883, she was married to Wm. H. Leary. They had resided on a farm west of Byron, until two years ago, when they moved to Byron. To this union were born twelve children, nine of whom, with the husband, survive. They are Moses and William of Byron, Edward and Harry of Rockford, Mrs. Mary Holquist of Davis Junction, Mrs. Julia Myers of Rockford, Mrs. Carrie Kennedy and Ella and Florence Leary of Byron.
Three children preceded their mother in death. They were Mrs. Katherine Townsend, of Beloit, Wis., and Thomas, of Byron, who passed away several years ago, and Errol, who died last September.

Mrs. Leary is also survived by eight grandchildren, two of whom, Errol and Elizabeth Townsend, were adopted by their grandparents at their mother's death. She also leaves three brothers and sisters. Mrs. Leary was a devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic church of Byron, where the funeral was held Monday and burial was in the Catholic
Cemetery.
