Died--of consumption, at his home in Byron, Sunday evening at 6 o'clock, October 18, 1885, George E. Daniels, in the thirty-fourth year of his age.

He never made a profession of religion until within a few weeks of his death, when his attention was called to the word of God in such a manner that he became interested in the study of it, and accepted its teachings. With tears of repentance he confessed his sins and prayed the Lord to forgive him. He signed the convenant to keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.

His dying testimony to his wife and two little boys and other relatives as he summoned each to his bedside, was very affecting. Several were present and all wept as they listened to his words of advice, trust and comfort.

Peacefully he fell asleep, to wait the return of the Life-giver.

The funeral services were held in the M. E. Church. Words of comfort were spoken by the writer from I Thess., 4:18. The following lines by Mrs. Hibben are dedicated to the bereaved family and friends. (lengthy poem follows.) J. F. Ballenger
