Gera Watts Called From Life Tuesday

Gera Watts, prominent Pine Creek Township farmer, passed away Tuesday at his home three miles southwest of Mount Morris, following a brief illness. Death was attributed to a stroke of apoplexy and complications, suffering only a few days before his demise.

A man highly respected by a wide circle of friends, Mr. Watts lived on the farm on which he was born his entire life, with the exception of 17 years on the Robert Hitt farm and one year in Missouri.

The son of Frisby and Nancy Watts, the deceased was born on March 20, 1852, at death was 82 years, eight months and 27 days of age. He was united in marriage to Emily Wallace Dec. 24, 1885. she preceded him in death 14 years ago.

Surviving are two sons, Charles and Reynolds; two daughters, Mrs. Mae Schnulle and Mrs. Effie Garrison, all of Mount Morris; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Lingle and Mrs. Cynthia Drexler of Pine Creek Township, and two brothers, F. D. Watts of Humbolt, Iowa, and Thomas Watts of Oregon.

He united with the Mount Morris Church of the Brethren about 20 years ago and lived true to his faith until death.

Funeral services were conducted at the Brethren Church yesterday afternoon, with Rev. F. E. McCune officiating. Burial was made in Oakwood Cemetery.
