He resided in Ogle County for Many Years
FULL OF YEARS WAITING THE SUMMONS

Henry Cole, many years a resident of Nashua Township, died suddenly at the home of his son in Kansas.
Henry B. Cole was born in the state of Ohio on the 4th day of February 1835 and died Nov. 4, 1908, being on the day of his death at the age of 73 years and 7 months, ripe and full of years.

He came with his parents to Ogle County in October 1852 where the greater part of his life was spent. On the 12th day of April 1855 he was married to Altha A. Sanford of Taylor Township. To this union were born eleven children, three sons and eight daughters, viz, Lusena S., Romanzo A., Dora E., Laurilla P., Herman H., Etta F., Freddie A., Arvilla I., Geneva A., Vernon M., and Maude A., eight of whom, the three sons and five daughters still survive with their mother to mourn this, their sad bereavement.

Deceased moved with his family to Iowa in 1879 where he remained as a tiller of the soil until 1882, at which time he returned to Ogle County locating in Daysville, which has been his place of residence until his death.

In June last at the earnest solicitation of his eldest son he went to Kansas for a protracted visit, probably till next spring, as he told the writer just before his departure. It was intended his wife, now widow, would join him there this fall, for which journey she was making preparations as she could, leaving her trunk partly packed when the sad tidings of this present tragedy came flashing over the wires.

More to sift through 100 year old newspaper very hard to cipher

Deceased died at the home of his son Romanzo A., and by him brought to his home in Daysville, from which place he was taken to Washington Grove on Sunday, November 8th, where appropriate services were held, Rev. G. A. Brown officiating. Later burial was made in the Washington Grove Cemetery. A large retainer of relatives and sympathizing friends we present to do this last rite of the living to the dead.
