OBIT unnamed and undated

MRS. JOHN BARDEN
Lucena S. Cole was born Feb. 15, 1856 in Ogle County, Ill.
She was married to John Barden Dec 21st, 1878. To this union were born three children, one son and two daughters, the son dying in infancy. The two daughters are; Mrs. Grace Burnett [sic Barnett] of Daysville and Miss Ada Barden of Oregon.

Deceased spent her entire life in Ogle County, and many years of her life in Daysville. For several years the family resided in Oregon, until her death, which sad event occurred on July 29, 1911, her age being 55 years, 5 months, and 14 days.

Deceased had been of failing health since July 4th, but was taken much worse about ten days ago, gradually growing worse till the death messenger came and relieved her of her sufferings.

She peacefully fell asleep in Jesus,
Another voice is stilled in death,
Another hand is desolated by death's relentless hand,
And other hearts now ache,
And now there is another vacant seat.
Another aged mother weeps as she lingers on the hither shore, awaiting the splash of the boatsman's oar.
Another sorrowing husband tarries but to walk alone till the lengthening shadows bespeak his near transition.
Loving daughters survive but to mourn departed mother's love.
Brothers and sisters linger still this side the turbid stream while sorrow dims their eyes with tears.
But amid these varied experiences, bitter tho they may be, may not each rejoice, because of the gladdening and blessed assurances that we need not mourn as those who have no hope.
The evidences of meetness left by the loved one now gone, for the solemn change, leaves no doubt in our minds as to her future on the golden shore of life and immortality.

The funeral was held from the home at two o'clock, Tuesday P. M., conducted by Rev. Geo. A. Brown, and was very largely attended by friends and neighbors. Burial was made at the Daysville Cemetery.
