Death of Mrs. Nancy Wragg

Mrs. Nancy (Thompson) Wragg, a pioneer settler of Pine Creek, died at the home of her son, Peter Wragg of North Dixon. Wednesday evening, June 25th at 11 o'clock. For a number of years she had made her home with her daughter, Mrs. John Netz of Grand Detour. She was taken sick at the home of her son in Dixon and failed quite rapidly until death came to relieve her sufferings.

The maiden name of the deceased was Nancy Thompson. She was born in Washington County, Maryland, April 23, 1825. She moved to Ogle Cunty in 1843. On June 1, 1845, she was united in marriage with Peter Wragg who preceded her in death a number of years ago. She was the mother of eleven children, seven of whom survive her.

They are : Mrs. Martha Netz and John Wragg of Grand Detour, Mrs. Sarah Hoffman, Peter B., and Frank Wragg of Dixon, William of Pine Creek, and Daniel of Michigan.

Mrs. Wragg for many years has been a faithful Christian, having been a member of the Christian Church of Pine Creek till the time of her death. Aunt Nancy, as she was commonly known, was well liked by everybody and will be greatly missed.

The funeral services were held at the Pine Creek Christian Church, Saturday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. D.F. Seyster officiating. Interment was made at the cemetery at the Christian Church.
