Obituary

Mr. Wm. Weed died at the residence of Mr. Sensor, Byron, Ill., Sept. 2, 1886 in the 88th year of his age.

He was born in Johnstown, N. Y., Dec. 8, 1798. He remained there till after his marriage with Miss Lucy Dake in January 1820 when they moved to Nunday, N. Y. and resided there till 1854, when they immigrated to Illinois and settled near Stillman Valley where they resided till a few years since when they gave up the responsibility of house keeping to reside with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sensor by whom they were cared for with true affection and devotion.

I learned from him that he was the subject of religious impression from very early years but was not converted till after his marriage. But was clearly converted to God during the first year of his married life, and joined the Baptist church with his wife. And they both remained honored members until called to the church triumphant by death. They have been members of the Baptist Church of Stillman Valley since 1857.
The funeral sermons of Mr. Weed and wife were preached by Rev. Chute, pastor of the Baptist Church of Stillman Valley. JHT
