Obituary - Rochelle Leader newspaper - William Dutcher Hardesty died Tuesday, June 3, (1930) at 9 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Hazel Foresman, in Chana, following an illness of two weeks.

He was a son of Daniel and Abigail Hardesty, pioneers of Ogle County, born March 14, 1857. His marriage was to Julia Hall. She died in September, 1910. A daughter, Blanche Heller, also preceded him in death.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Foresman and Mrs. Bessie Dugdale of Belvidere. There are 11 grandchildren.

Mr. Hardesty was the youngest of 11 children, four of whom survive. They are, Mrs. Sarah Grothe and Mrs. Emily Dusher, both of Rochelle; Edward Hardesty of Chana and Frank Hardesty of Oregon. Att. W. R. Dusher of Rockford is a nephew.

Funeral services were held from the home of Mrs. Foresman on Thursday at 2 p.m. The Rev. Ernest Wray O'Neal of Freeport officiated. The burial was in the Washington Grove Cemetery.
