Mrs. Annie Meiners, Forreston

Forreston, Ill., June 10. – Mrs. Annie Meiners, 71, passed away Sunday morning at her home northwest of Forreston, after an illness of several months’ duration.

Mrs. Meiners, the former Miss Annie Wemmering, was born near Forreston on March 21, 1869, and spent her entire life in this community. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Wemmering.

On April 3, 1894, she was united in marriage to Harm Meiners, of Forreston, who preceded her in death January 20, 1931.

She was a faithful member of the Forreston Grove Presbyterian Church, which she joined with her husband, on Jan. 16, 1916. She was also a member of the Woman’s Missionary society of that church.

She leaves three sons, Edwin, John, and Herman, of Forreston; three daughters, Mrs. Jacob Swalve, Mrs. Irvin Van Raden, of Forreston, and Miss Ella, at home. One daughter preceded her in death. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Tena Freeksen of George, IA., and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 o’clock Wednesday afternoon at the home and at 2 o’clock ath the Forreston Grove Presbyterian Church. Rev. S.G. Manus will officiate. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery.
