PIONEER LEAF RIVER RESIDENT DIED LAST WEEK

Benjamin Franklin Schreiber, pioneer resident of Leaf River Township, died at his home Thursday evening at 9:50 just three months to the day after he and his wife had celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Mr. Schreiber had been in fairly good health until a few days before his death.

Benjamin Franklin Schreiber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Christian Schreiber, was born August 30, 1850 in Pennsylvania. He came to Ogle County with his parents when 17 years of age, settling on a farm near here. He was married to Amelia Motter, October 8, 1871. She survives with the following children: S. T. Schreiber of Boise, Idaho, irvin of Rockford, Clayton of Leaf River, O. M. of (unreadable), Mrs. Carrie Hanmer of (unreadable), and Mrs. Sylvia Martin of (unreadable). (next 4 lines are unreadable).

Funeral services were held Sunday from the residence at 10:00 and from the North Grove Evangelical Church at 11:00. Rev. I. D. Stehr officiating and burial in the adjoining cemetery.
