Bruce M. Carpenter, 90, 302 Forest Ave., died Saturday afternoon in St. Anthony Hospital after a two-month illness.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Eva Lightfoot and Mrs. Pearl Livingston, both of Rockford, Mrs. Viola Patrick, Loves Park and Mrs. Charles Martin, Minneapolis, Minn; a brother, Merton, Dixon; a sister, Mrs. Grace Beck, Polo; 17 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 3 pm Tuesday in the Julian-Poorman Funeral Home, 304 N 5th St. Burial will be in North Burritt Cemetery.

Bruce Monroe Carpenter, 90, 302 Forest Ave., died at 5:40 am Saturday, August 5, 1961, in St. Anthony Hospital after a two months illness. Born April 25, 1871, in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeremiah Carpenter. Moved to a farm east of Polo in 1874, later moving to Rockford. Married Ida Hedrick in 1895[?]. She died in February 17, 1928. He married Mae Knott in 1932. She died Dec 7, 1957. Member of Grace Methodist Church. Survivors include: four daughters, Mrs. Elva Lightfoot and Mrs. Pearl Livingston, both of Rockford; Mrs. Viola Patrick, Loves Park; and Mrs. Charles Martin, Minneapolis; a brother, Merton, Dixon; a sister, Mrs. Grace Beck, Polo; 17 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
Services at 3 pm Tuesday, Aug 8, in Julian-Poorman Funeral Home, 304 N 5th St, with the Rev Gehl Devore, pastor of Grace Methodist Church officiating. Burial in North Burritt Cemetery. No visitation.
