Darwin H. Campbell, a Banker at Byron, where he is a prominent business man, was born June 3, 1845, in the place where he is a useful citizen and identified with its business prosperity. He is the only son of A.O. Campbell, and his wife Elmira (Brewster) Campbell of Byron. He was educated in the common schools of his native place and passed one term at Eastman's Business College in Chicago. After completing his education he became assistant in the business relations of his Father, and after acting in that capacity for several years, he became by purchase, the successor to his sire and sole proprietor of the enterprise which was established by his father. He continued to manage his affairs in the same line of business intil 1882, when he sold out to E.A. Nott. In July 1885, he was made postmaster of Byron. Previous to that date he had assumed the management of the affairs of the bank at Byron, in which capacity he is still operating. His marriage to Florence, daughter of Frederick A. and Nora S. (Spoor) Wheelock, took place May 15, 1884.
