Elizabeth Harmon Fager was born in the state of Maryland 88 years and died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rapp in Leaf River on December 6, 1917. She came to Illinois in 1838, settling at West Grove. Her husband, Samuel Fager, preceded her in death about 12 years ago. To this union were born 5 children, 3 sons and 2 daughters, one daughter having preceded the mother in death. The deceased had made her home in Polo with her daughter, Mrs. Hays, for the past ten years. This fall, in order that her daughter could go to California, she came to live with her niece on November 27th. Shortly after her arrival she was taken sick and lingered but a few days dying on December 6th. Her daughter, Mrs. Hays, had just arrived in Los Angeles, when she received the news of her mother's death. She at once returned to Forreston where the funeral was held December 10th. Burial was at West Grove.
