FRANCIS A. EYCHANER, of the firm of Hildebrand & Eychaner, dealers in hardware and agricultural implements, at Monroe Center, born April 5, 1851, in Monroe Township. He has been a resident of Ogle County since that time with the exception of five years spent at Rockford, while attending school and where he graduated at the Rockford Business College. He has spent his time in agricultural pursuits and is at the present time the possessor of 200 acres of tillable land. He has held the office of Township Clerk for about two years, Assessor one year and in politics adheres to the Republican party.
The parents of our subject were John and Clarinda (King) Eychaner, natives of the Empire State. They were married in Ogle County, January 1850, and they resided in Monroe Township until the death of the father, April 24, 1863. The mother still resides there.
