Franklin Andrew, a farmer of the township of Pine Rock, was born on section 4 of that municipality. His birth occurred March 1, 1848, His parents, Nicholas and Margaret (Eychaner) Andrew, were both natives of the state of New York. His father was born February 21, 1818 in Broome County, NY, and came to Illinois in 1843. (Should have stated 1842). He was married to the lady already mentioned December 1, 1842. (Should have stated December 15, 1841). His parents were John and Nancy (Nash) Andrew. His demise occurred August 2, 1856, and his remains are buried at Paine's Point in the Methodist Cemetery. The mother is the daughter of Conrad and Catherine (Boody) Eychaner. She gave birth to five children as follows: Daniel, born July 28, 1845, is married to Cornelia M. Slagle. Their marriage took place January 25, 1880, and they are residing in the same township as their parents. Franklin was born March 1, 1848, and married Clara Etnyre. Their wedding occurred February 20, 1879. Nathan was born March 11, 1850. Amanda was born February 12, 1852, and died December 11, 1866, and lies buried beside her father. (She died of diphtheria - 1c). George H., born July 16, 1856, is married to Ida M. Eddy, and is resident in Chana. Their union in marriage took place in September 1878. By a second marriage she is the mother of a daughter - - Margaret Ellen - - born February 3, 1858, and married to John Bull, December 11, 1879. Mrs. Rea is a member of the Church of the Disciples. She lives with one of her daughters, Mrs. John Bull.

Daniel Andrew, is the oldest living child of the family. He now resides on section 4 of Pine Rock Township, where he owns 160 acres, most of which is in a high state of cultivation. He was born in the township in which he now lives, and his early education was secured there. Later he went to Mt. Morris, where he completed it. He has two living children, Alice C., born August 30, 1881 and Charles E.., born December 2, 1883. Since his marriage he has resided on his present homestead. His wife is a native of Marion Twonship, born September 17, 1848. Nathan resides with his brother Daniel and is a farmer by calling. The grandsires of the subject were both in the Revolutionary War, their grandfather, Conrad Eychaner, passing his last days and dying eventually in Pine Rock Township. Their grandfather, John Andrew, died at his home in New York State. Their father was the owner of 520 acres of land in this county, at one time lying in this township. He was wholly fee from debt, and most of the land was improved at the time of his death.

The son who is the subject of this sketch is one of the well-to-do and respected citizens of the community in which he is a resident. He is the owner of 100 acres of land of which 82 acres is situated on section 4 and 20 acres are on section 5 and 60 acres of the tract is under improvements. The remainder is all in young and valuable timber. The farm buildings are of good type and suited to the demands of the place.

Mr. Andrew is a Republican in his political connections, and is a member of the I.O.O. F. and has served in the local government of his township for four years in the capacity of constable.

The children of his family are as follows: Bertie was born December 23, 1880; Bessie M, May 20, 1882; Amy M., July 15, 1885.
