Frederick Coy, an old resident of this locality, and a veteran of the Civil War, died at his home in Honey Creek, January 30, at the age of 75 years. The deceased was born in Washington County, Maryland, July 13, 1832 and was united in marriage to Nancy Olsen in 1856, to which union eight children, 5 sons and 3 daughters were born, 7 of whom survive and were present at the funeral held from the Honey Creek School House, Monday, February 3, 1908.

Mr. Coy came to Illinois in 1869, settling in Ogle County and has resided in Honey Creek since 1896. He saw active service in the Civil War from 1863 until the close of the conflict.

The funeral was conducted by Elder G. A. Brown and interment made in Daysville Cemetery.
