Died

Oct. 8, 1886 at Durand Ill. Hannah Perry, wife of the late Rev. James Hodges. Deceased was born at Vergennes, Vermont, 1804 and had she lived till Dec. 2, she would have been 82 years old. She was united in marriage with James Hodges, Oct. 5, 1826. They resided in Oneida Co, N. Y. until 1844, when they came west and settled in Winnebago County. Mr. Hodges died Oct. 9, 1877. After his death Mrs. Hodges lived with her daughters at Durand. She was a loving mother and kind neighbor, always ready and willing to minister to the wants of the sick and suffering. The needy were provided for by her as far as her means would admit. Her funeral was largely attended by sympathizing friends. She leaves four sons and three daughters to mourn thier loss.
