Obituary of Harvey Crill

Harvey Crill, retired farmer of Ogle County, who had resided in this vicinity for seventy two years and in Rockford for the last sixteen years passed away yesterday morning at 9 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles J. Taggart, 1602 National Avenue, a stroke of paralysis suffered last Friday causing his demise.

Mr. Crill was born near Rome, Oneida County, N. Y. August 17, 1834 and came to Illinois with his parents nine years later. He was engaged in the pursuit of agriculture during his active years in Ogle County, retiring sixteen years ago to make his home at 956 North Main Street in this city. His wife, Mrs. Katherine Buffington Crill entered the life beyond seven years ago and he has since made his home with the daughter mentioned.

Deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lula Taggart and Mrs. Alta Porter, both of Rockford, and two grandchildren, Miss. Beatrice Crill of Huron, S. D., and Joseph Taggart, of this city. A son Benjamin Crill, died here two years ago.

Mr. Crill was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Cherry Valley and was held in high esteem by a wide circle of friends, who will sincerely mourn his taking away. Funeral arrangements will be announced today.
