Mt. Morris Index 12-24-1943

Henry J. Palmer, a lifelong resident of the Silver Creek community northeast of Mount Morris, died early Friday morning, Dec. 17, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Susan Doyle in Rockford following a short illness. Mr. Palmer was born August 23, 1865 in Mount Morris Township and at death was 78 years of age. His marriage to Elizabeth Steffa of Rockvale Township occured April 2, 1889. Eight children were born to this union, two of which with their mother preceded Mr. Palmer in death.
Surviving besides Mrs. Doyle are three other daughters, Mrs Olia Johnson, Rockford; Mrs Bessie Saams, Kirkland, and Mrs Hattie Paul, Leaf River, and two sons; Emery, Rockford, and Henry Jr., Byron; also 30 grandchildren and 16 great- grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the Rock Of Ages Funeral Home, Byron With burial in Silver Creek Cemetery.
