Isaac KOBEL was the son of Solomon KOBEL and Hannah HOUPT of Northumberland County, PA. Heinrich Solomon Kobel was a carpenter by trade. Isaac Kobel was born about 1819, according to the 1850 census of Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. During this census, the Kobels were residing in the Borough of Sunbury. Isaac was listed as a farmer.
Isaac Kobel was married to Sarah "Sally" WELKER. Sally was born in 1827 in Northumberland County. Little is known, at this time, of Sarah "Sally" Welker and her ancestors. It is believed that Isaac and Sally had seven (7) children: Peter Harrison, Catherine, Luther, Lydia Ann, Josiah, Jeremiah, and Sarah.
Sometime after the 1850 census, Isaac Kobel moved his family to Illinois and eventually settled in Brookville Township, Ogle County, Illinois. Sometime between the 1870 census and the 1880 census, it is believed that Sarah Welker Kobel died. Her burial place is unknown.
At the age of fifty-five (55), Isaac Kobel married Eliza J. LEHMAN on September 16, 1882 in Oregon, Ogle County, Illinois. The marriage was performed by W.W. SHULER, Minister of the Gospel. Isaac listed his occupation as "Laborer" and his place of residence as Brookville, Illinois. Eliza J. Lehman was a widow. Her maiden name was RUDASILL. Eliza was also a resident of Brookville, Ogle County, Illinois. She was forty-four (44) years old when she married Isaac Kobel. Eliza was born in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Her mother's maiden rname was SPRUNG. Isaac's date of death is unknown and, at the present, there is no additional information concerning Isaac Kobel.
