Jacob Longman was born in Maryland, April 10, 1860, and passed away at his home eight miles southeast of Polo Wednesday, March 23, the cause of his death being pneumonia. Mr. Longman has resided in this vicinity for the past 49 years. He is survived by his wife, formerly Letha Smice of Pine Creek township and one daughter, Mrs. Harry Huffman of Oregon, two sisters and two brothers. A son, John and daughter, Flossie, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Pine Creek Church of the Brethren, Rev. J. H. Brindle officiating and with interment in the adjoining cemetery. Bev. Brindle of Mt. Morris is a former pastor of the Pine Creek Brethren congregation.
