JEREMIAH BOLEN DIES
Last rites for Jeremiah Bolen who passed away at his home in Leaf River at 1:30 a.m. on January 15, were held Tuesday afternoon from the North Grove Evangelical Church at 2 p.m. Rev. Cave officiated and burial was in the cemetery adjoining the church.
Jeremiah Bolen was born in Adams County, Pa., June 6, 1858.
On May 17, 1882, he was united in marriage to Emma Jane Myers. Besides his widow he leaves two sons and four daughters, Charles of Rockford; Mrs. Wm. Piper; Mrs. Maude Hoover; and Alfred, all of Leaf River; Mrs. Henry Rohns of Mt. Morris and Mrs. Henry Otto of Los Angeles, Calif.; nine grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one brother, Lee Bolen of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Bolen spent most of his life on a farm north of Leaf River until his health caused him to retire, moving to Leaf River about 17 years ago.
Mr. Bolen was a man that never tired. He was at all times willing and ready to help a friend and neighbor, never thinking of his welfare. Mr. Bolen made friends wherever he went and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Besides his relatives, he leaves a host of friends that will mourn his passing.
