Leaf River, Sept. 10-Jeremiah Grove was born in Washington County, Md., February 20, 1845. He came to Illinois, settling in Leaf River Township in the year 1860 and continued to live in Leaf River and vicinity until his death which occurred last Saturday, September 5. November 26, 1868 he was united in marriage to Margaret A. Neff. Three children were born to them, Olin and Albert Grove and Mrs. Mae Etnyre. The funeral was held Monday afternoon in the M.E. Church, Rev. Pittman officiating. He was laid to rest by ex-soldier boys in the Lightsville Cemetery: James Miller, Charles Gaffin, George W. Finkboner, O. J. Trine, John W. Twigg and Wesley Knodle.
