JOEL KUNTZELMAN, AGED LEAF RIVER MAN FOUND DEAD (handwritten 1932)

A granddaughter of Joel Kuntzelman discovered on the afternoon of December 30, 1932, that the aged gentleman had passed away at his home in Leaf River. Investigation showed that the death was due to the infirmities of old age. Mr. Kuntzelman was eighty-one years of age, a native of Pennsylvania, where he was born on August 16, 1858. He had resided here for many years. His wife who was Sallie Eavey, had preceded [sic] him in death three years ago.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Edith French, Mrs. Eva Stanger [sic] and Mrs. Inez Lutz, all of Rockford; two sons, Leon and Joel of Leaf River; two brothers Aaron and Richard, also of Leaf River; and a sister, Mrs. Frances Motter of South Dakota.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church on Sunday afternoon and were in charge of Rev. R. W. Pittman. Burial was in Egan Cemetery.

Rites at Leaf River For Joel Kuntzelman-- (Consolidated News Service) Leaf River, Dec 31--Funeral services for Joel Kuntzelman, 81, who was found dead at his home here at 3 pm Friday, will be held at 1:30 pm Sunday at the Leaf River Christian Church, the Rev R. W. Pittman officiating. Burial will be in the Egan Cemetery.

Mr. Kuntzelman was born Aug 16, 1851 in Pennsylvania, and was married to Sarah Eadey [sic], who died in 1929.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Edith French, Mrs. Eva Stenger and Mrs. Inis [sic] Lutz, all of Rockford; two sons, Joe and Leon, both of Leaf River; two brothers Aaron and Richard, both of Leaf River; a sister, Mrs Francis Motter, South Dakota, and fifteen grandchildren.
