JOHN HELLER DIES AT DAUGHTER'S HOME FROM ILLS OF AGE--John Heller, a civil war veteran and resident of northern Illinois for 73 years, died Sunday evening at 6:40 o'clock at the home of his daugher, Mrs. F. A. Hills, 1331 Andrews Street. He had been in declining health for some time from the infirmities of age and his condition became critical about a week ago.
He was born in Harrisburg, Pa, and was 84 years old. He came to Adeline, Ill when 11 years old and moved to Oregon in 1860, where he resided until he came to make his home with his daughter here a few months ago. He was a mason and cement contractor and was a comrade of Post No. 116 GAR at Oregon.
He married Miss Emma D. Lantz on Jan 1, 1873. She survives him with two daughters, Mrs F. A. Hills, at whose home he passed away, and Mrs. Frank Heflebower of Sterling. He also leaves a sister, Mrs. Lydia Heller, the last of a family of 11 children, of Modale, Ia.
Funeral services will be held this noon at 12:30 o'clock at the Hills residence and at 3 o'clock at the Methodist church at Oregon. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery at Oregon.
