John Yeakel

John Yeakel, former Polo City Clerk and Buffalo Township clerk, died Tuesday noon, June 26 at Ann Arbor, Michigan, following a brief illness.

Mr. Yeakel was born Feb. 28, 1872, the son of John and Lydia Kriebel Yeakel. His wife, the former Lilliam Derby, passed away in 1945. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Edwin, Jefferson, Samuel, and William, and three sisters, Mrs. Susan Stoner, Mrs. Emma Wolf and Mrs. Ella Stahler.

Mr. Yeakel is survived by a son, John of Dexter, Mich., and a daughter, Miriam Yeakel of Hammond, Ind., and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. at Emanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church in Polo of which he was a member for many years. Rev. Ira B. Wilson, pastor, officiated. Burial took place in Fairmount Cemetery.
