Three Residents Called by Death

Mrs. John McNett, Mrs. Laura Tice and Howard Clevidence Answer Summons of Creator

Mrs. Tice succombs to injuries sustained in a Fall -- Mrs. McNett Called Saturday After a Lingering Ilness.

Failing to rally from the effects of a fall which she suffered a week previously, Mrs. Laura Tice passed away last Friday morning a 2:00 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jesse Allen, death coming about 24 hours after the aged lady had lapsed into a coma which precluded any hope of recovery. A lifelong resident of this vicinity, Mrs. Tice possessed one of those unusual personalities that attracted and maintained friendships through a fine sense of humor and an active interest in the current life of the community. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter in charge of Rev. Fred Nazarene, who for many years has been a friend of the family, and later at the Methodist Church in charge of Rev. R. N. Hoover. Burial was made at Oakwood. Laura M. Stonebraker, daughter of Francis and Philoma Stonebraker, was born north of Mt. Morris July 29, 1855 and died August 17, 1934, at the age of 79 years and 16 days. She was married to John E. Tice Sept. 13, 1881 and to this union were born two children, Mrs. Lela Allen and Charles Tice, both of Mt. Morris, who survive in addition to one brother, Frank Stonebraker. Her husband preceded her in death 18 years ago. Until Illness prevented, Mrs. Tice was was a faithful member of the Mount Morris Methodist Church.
