OBITUARY
Mrs. Lillie Mumma Coffman, 77, was born in Hagerstown, Md., on Sept 10, 1856. She died Aug. 14. She was married to Salathiel Coffman March 4, 1885, at Mount Morris, Ill. Immediately afterward the couple came to Nebraska, settled in on a farm near Adams where they lived till 1909 when they came to Lincoln. The home was at 236 So. 27th. She is survived by a brother, Frank Mumma of Dunigan, Calif., and two daughters, Miss Marion Coffman and Mrs. Bessie J Levy, both of Lincoln.Funeral services were held Aug. 16. Burial was in Wyuka. Rev. Dean R. Leland said, During the last then or fifteen years, she has suffered the limitations of invalidism, but nevertheless maintained a keen interest in life and her relationship with their relatives and family. In all these years, she maintained remarkable cheerfulness and buoyancy of spirit, always optimistic and looking on the favorable side of like. She had an unusual capacity for friendship and her friends found great joy in visiting her sick room or sitting about in her wheel chair, and all who knew her felt that they were better for her life and influence. If one on the chief uses of this life is to make friends for the next, Mrs. Coffman abundantly fulfilled this purpose, for she had many friends who have now gone beyond and many friends left behind whom she will someday greet in her heavenly home.
