Lydia Ossman Kuntzelman was born in Schuylkill Co., PA on March 14, 1828, and died at her home in Leaf River, IL on May 8, 1911, aged 83 years, 1 month, 24 days.
She was married to Michael Kuntzelman June 6, 1847. To this union were born eight children, four boys and four girls, all of whom survive, except for the youngest daughter, Mrs. J.W. Pipher, who passed away about twelve years ago.
They came west in 1868 and settled near Leaf River where they have made their home. Mr. Kuntzelman preceded her to the better land about twenty years ago. Since that time she has been very lonely, and during her last years, often desired to go home and be at rest. Monday evening about 6 o'clock, the death messenger came and set her spirit free.
Grandma Kuntzelman was converted in early womanhood and united with the Church of God in PA. She held her membership in that church until she passed from the church triumphant.
She had a host of friends and relatives. She is survived by 7 children, 43 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. The children were present at the funeral except for two daughters that live in Dakota.
