Mrs. Appleford Is Summoned
Former Dixon Lady Died in California Sunday
Remains Will Be Brought to Polo Friday for Interment Beside HusbandWord was received at Polo yesterday, of the death Sunday morning of Mrs. I. D. Appleford at San Bernardino, Cal., at the home of her son Lawrence. The remains will be brought to Polo Friday morning, going through Dixon, and interment will be in the Polo Cemetery where her husband was buried.
Maria Lawrence was born in July 1841, on a farm near Polo. In January of 1862 she was married to I. D. Appleford, who preceded her in death six years ago last May. She leaves two sons. Lawrence of San Bernardino and Will of Los Angeles. One brother, Jordan Lawrence, of Geneva, also survives. Mrs. Appleford was one of a family of seven children of whom only one is now left. The late Johnson Lawrence of Polo was also a brother. Mrs. Appleford made heir home in Dixon and Polo until three years ago when she went to California to live with her son.
