On Tuesday morning, March 14, another of our very aged and respected citizens quietly went to her rest, Mrs. Jacob Kappenman had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Camling, since the death of her husband, Jacob Kappenman. She with her husband came to Leaf River Township from Germany about fifty-five years ago, when the county was yet quite sparcely inhabited, having scarcely nothing of this world's goods. But the long years of toil brought its reward and when her husband died, they were the owners of one thousand acres of land. Ten children, seven of which are still living were born to them. The funeral will be held on Friday, Rev. R. W. Pitman of Capron, preaching the funeral sermon, the services to be in the stone church at Lightsville, and interment in the Lightsville Cemetery.
