Mrs. Riseborough Dies at Hospital
Monroe Center Woman Passes Away Sunday After an Operation.
Mrs. Mary J. Riseborough, of Monroe Center, passed away at Rockford Hospital Sunday morning at 2:45 o'clock, her death following a very serious operation performed last week.
Mrs. Riseborough was 44 years of age. She was born in Canada but had lived in Illinois the greater part of her life, coming to this state when but six years of age. She had lived in Monroe for many years and was a well known resident of that section.
She is survived by the husband and four children, Ray, Hazel, Pearl and Frank. She also leaves her mother, two sisters and six brothers. The sisters are Mrs. George Moore, of Rockford, and Mrs. Leroy Holmes of Poplar Grove, and the brothers are, John, Dr. A. B. and Everett Atchison of this city, and Samuel, Cecil and Clarence Atchison of Monroe Center. She was a member of the M. E. church at Monroe and an active worker in both the Missionary and Ladies' Aid societies of that church.
There will be a brief funeral service Tuesday morning at 9:30 o'clock at the home of her sister, Mrs. George Moore, 719 North Winnebago Street and at 2 o'clock at the Monroe M. E. Church. Rev. H. M. Bannen officiating. The pall bearers will be Samuel, Dr. A. B., John, Everett and Cecil Atchison and George E. Moore. Interment will be at Monroe Center.
