Mrs. Frank Sheets
Mary Sheets, wife of Rev. Frank D. Sheets, Superintendent of Chicago Wester District, Methodist Episcopal Church died at Wesley Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock, after an illness of three weeks, of a complication of diseases hastened by an attack of pneumonia three weeks ago.
Mary Ellinwood was the daughter of Marvin and Anna Brice Ellinwood. She was born in Rochelle in 1863. The Ellinwood and Brice families were very prominent and influential in this city for many years. Her father conducted a hardware store in the building now occupied by the Rochelle Trust and Savings Bank. The family resided where J. A. Brundage now lives. After completing her education Miss Ellinwood married Frank D. Sheets, of Oregon, then a young Methodist minister. Rev. Sheets has since held many of the best appointments made by the M.E. Conference in Northern Illinois and the splendid character of his wife and her personalities were of great assistance to him in his work. She was known and respected by a large number of friends in this community.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three children -- Harold, whose home is in Paris France; Raymond, at Camp Grant, and Mrs. George Chambers of Dowagiac, Michigan. There are seven grandchildren. Mrs. Ernest Wray O'Neal, of Minneapolis, is a sister of Mrs. Sheets, and Charles Ellinwood, Boston, and Robert Ellinwood, Chicago are brothers. The funeral services were held at Oak Park Tuesday afternoon at 2:30. The interment will be made this afternoon at Oregon.Contributed by Peg Arnold
