Obituary: Hagerstown Mail, Mar. 18, 1897

Mr. Beeler Dead.
Mr. Samuel J. [sic- I.] Beeler died at his home near Roxbury this morning at 4:30 o'clock of paralysis, aged about 74 years. He was first stricken about four years ago and recently suffered another stroke, which was followed by the third one last week. His life was despaired of since. The deceased was born at Roxbury. He was a son of Jacob Beeler, a former miller at that place, and when a boy, went West and grew up to manhood, returning to this county about 18 years ago, and engaged in farming. He was twice married and is survived by his second wife and these children. Ernest, Dixon, Illinois; Joseph and Jacob, near Leaf River, Ill., and Elmer at home. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Henry Palmer, near Leaf River. Mr. Beeler was a first cousin of Mr. Wm. Marr, this city.
