Sarah Julia Blanchard Dies
Sarah Julia Blanchard, 86, died Dec. 25, at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. John Feltman of Leaf River, with whom she had made her home.
Mrs. Blanchard, the daughter of John M. and Margaret Jane Bunn Weld, was born Feb. 28, 1865. She was married to Josiah G. Blanchard, Feb. 26, 1884.
She was a member of Byron Chapter No. 394, O. E. S. for 47 years, and also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
Survivors are two daughters: Mrs. Ethel Feltman, Leaf River and Mrs. Nellie Reeverts, Byron; three sisters, Mrs. Amelia Hogan and Mrs. Nellie Smith, both of Rockford, and Mrs. Bessie Darlow, Spear Fish, S. D.; three brothers, Charles Weld, Clinton, Maurice, Chicago, and Fred, Salem, S. D.; two granddaughters, Mrs. Josie Arjes, Forreston, and Mrs. Nellie Rassmussen, Chana; also four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Blanchard was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Josephine, who died in infancy, one grandson and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were held Friday at 1 p.m., at the Leaf River Methodist Church. Rev. J. M. Beck, pastor, assisted by Rev. Willis Thomas, officiated at the services. Burial was in Byron cemetery.
