DEATH SUMMONS TO MRS. SARAH STOVER

PASSES TO THE GREAT BEYOND LAST FRIDAY AGED 77 YEARS 6 MONTHS 15 DAYS

Lived Entire Life Within Ogle County In or Within a Few Miles of Mount Morris -- Four of Family Die Within Year

For the third time within the past month the angel of death hovered over our town and called to the home beyond one of our aged residents, Mrs. Sarah Stover passing away last Friday.

The funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the College chapel, Rev. F. E. McCune, pastor of the Brethren Church conducting the services. Burial was made at the West Branch Cemetery, where Mrs. Stover was laid to rest beside her husband.

Sarah Wolfe was born near Leaf River, Ogle County, Illinois, March 2, 1843, died at Mount Morris, Sept. 17, 1920, aged 77 years, 6 months and 15 days. She was one of a family of 11 children, of whom only eight survive -- Miss Emma Wolfe, of Mount Morris, who lived with her sister for a number of years, Mrs. Charles Allen of Mount Morris, and Mrs. Susan Thomas, of Rockford

Mrs. Stover makes the fourth of the family to die within the past year -- two brothers, John Wolfe, of Mount Morris, and David Wolfe, of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away within the past four months, while a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Wallace, of Morrill, Kans., died within the year.

Mrs. Stover was united in marriage to Daniel Stover, March 18, 1861, and from the parental roof went to live with her husband on the Stover farm, northwest of town, where she resided until 1898, when they both removed to Mount Morris and built the property on West Front Street, in which she resided until her death. Thus she lived in but three residences during her entire life and these where within Ogle County, within a short distance of Mount Morris.

Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Stover: Franklin W., Minnie M. Spurgeon, Lanah Walker, Linden, Iowa; Anna Reiste, Lamoni, Iowa; Katie Reiste, Adel, Iowa; Ralph D., of Twin Falls, Idaho; John H., of Chicago. All are living except Franklin, who died in California Jan. 4, 1919.

Mrs. Stover joined the Brethren Church and lived a consistent Christian life in the church of her choice. She was quiet and unobrusive in her daily life and leaves many friends who mourn the loss of a sincere and devoted friend.

John Stover, of Chicago; Mrs. Lanah Walker, of Lincoln, Iowa; Mrs. Anna Reiste, of Lamoni, Iowa, and Mrs. Katie Reiste and her husband, Amos, of Adel, Iowa, were the children who were able to be present at the funeral services.
