Ulysses S. Cain 1869-1940

From his obituary, Leaf River Register, September 6, 1940:

Ulysses Cain, 71, died at his home near Adeline, Thursday, September 3, at 11: P.M. after an illness of six months.

The son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvanus Cain, he was born near Adeline on February 4, 1869 and lived in that community all his life. He was united in marriage at Ridott to Sarah Klever of Ridott on August 20, 1905.

Surviving are his widow, a daughter, Susie Kruckenberg, at home, a brother, Elias Cain, Adeline, and two sisters, Mrs. Sep. Etnyre of Adeline and Mrs. Martha Stoner of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A son and two brothers, John and Charles, both of Adeline, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held from the home at one o'clock today (Friday, Sept. 6) and at the U. B. Church at Adeline with Rev. R. V. Strole officiating. Burial will be in the local cemetery
