Wilbur F. Brooke obituary, Dixon Evening Telegraph (Dixon Illinois) 16 Oct 1945

Wilbur F. Brooke, 72, passed away at 4:30 o'clock this morning at the Warmolts Clinic where he had been a patient for a week. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church at 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, the Rev. Earl A. Olson, pastor, officiating, and entombment will be in the memorial mausoleum, Oakwood Cemetery, Dixon.
Mr. Brooke was born in Pine Creek Township, Ogle County, May 8, 1873, a son of Thomas F. and Rose Ann (Mumma) Brooke. He was married to Emma Fearer of Polo, Feb. 9, 1899, and they farmed in Pine Creek Township until 1917 when they retired to make their home in Oregon.
He is survived by his widow, two sons, Donald of Oregon and Gerald of Rockford; a sister Mrs. E.G. Zellars of Seymour, Conn., a niece Mrs. Claude Guya of Grand Detour, and four grandchildren.
